The initiative to establish a new United Methodist Church in North Pulaski County, Arkansas, began in 1981. North Pulaski United Methodist Church was founded in 1982. In the beginning we met in the Mobile Chapel. Bishop Hicks called upon this new Church to develop an emerging congregation that follows Jesus Christ; believes and acts upon the Word of God contained in the Old and New Testaments; that will express and be the love as personified by Jesus Christ; that is intentionally and by design from the very beginning an inclusive Church in terms of demographics of the Gravel Ridge community. The first worship service was held on Sunday, February 28, 1982.
